Squid Ink sits in the heart of Ancoats and hopes to represent the heart, too.
There’s no bookings required, which gives it a bit of a laid-back appeal, which is helped by the interiors. Expect to find industrial features, an open kitchen, and a minimalist interior, helped all the more by the hanging incandescent lights.
The food is predominately composed of monthly changing tasting menus, created from locally-sourced, seasonal and organic produce – if it’s not self-grown! These often come with wine pairings, or if not, you can feast on their small plates.
