Cord

Description

Open since 2001, Cord has been one of the most popular Northern Quarter bars for over a decade - and its recent facelift has attracted a whole new generation of clientele. A Northern Quarter cult favourite, Cord has some stand out features which make it a great place for a night out in in the city.

Cord are known for their wooden wonder. From upcycled planks and keg bore table stands to flushed white tiling in the basement, Cord is edgy and cool all at once. Be that down in the basement or in the bustle of the alcoves, Cord are keeping the industrial Northern Quarter spirit alive.

Cord host live music, open mic nights and a weekly quiz, all the things that make it a good place to drink midweek as well as the weekend. The crowd at Cord is one comprised mainly of young creative types, which however you look at it, makes for a good vibe. Downstairs you'll find one of the best basement bars in Manchester, ‘The Vault’ where the party gets a bit more lively, with DJs keep the crowds entertained with an eclectic mix of music. So if you want an evening in the Northern Quarter with good music, a good crowd and a basement bar – then look no further than Cord.
