Artist Info

The Brand New Heavies began in the 1980s and quickly gained a cult following in the London club scene and soon signed to Cooltempo as acid jazz replaced rare groove in clubs.

A single, "Got to Give", came out on Cooltempo before the Brand New Heavies signed to Acid Jazz Records and released Brand New Heavies to critical acclaim. The band signed to a division of Chrysalis Records in the UK, and American distribution was picked up by influential label Delicious Vinyl, and N'Dea Davenport joined the group and the singles "Dream Come True", "Never Stop" and "Stay This Way", all with Davenport on lead vocals, became hits on both sides of the Atlantic,

The group's appearance with 3rd Bass and  A Tribe Called Quest at a performance in New York City, inspired the group to incorporate elements of hip hop music. Their next album was the critically acclaimed Heavy Rhyme Experience, Vol. 1, which included collaborations with Guru of Gang Starr and The Pharcyde.

The Brand New Heavies released Brother Sister (1994)  The album spawned more singles, one of them being the hit "Midnight at the Oasis",

DESTRUCTION

In 1991/92 Destruction was a UK finalist in the DMC championships, which eventually led to taking steps into production. He is credited with co-production on the highly acclaimed Adam F ‘Kaos’ album, released on EMI in 2001 and has worked with artists that can only be described as Hip Hop Royalty, (Redman, M.O.P, Capone-n-Noreaga, Pharoahe Monch, De la Soul, Guru and LL Cool J), the latter of which went platinum in the U.S and was a Billboard number 1 in its first week.

The Redman single Smash Sumthin achieved a U.K top 10 and a gold disc to boot. Destruction has since worked on remixes for Pay As You Go, Elephant Man, Kidda, Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip and Flux Pavilion to name a few as well as completing 2 Lethal and Destruction albums, both of which were heavily rotated on 1Xtra and Kiss FM, leading him to work with acts such as Canibus, Ric Atari, Leee John (Imagination), J2K (Roll Deep), Skibadee, Harry Shotta, Tor Cesay, Natasha Watts and Scroobius Pip.
