There’s no denying it – London loves Latino. From the street food to the burritos and of course not forgetting the sumptuous tipples. There are not many credible bars that don’t have a hint of Latin American flavour. Whether it’s the music, the margaritas, the mojitos, the rum, the tequila or even the lime-chocked bottles of Sol, there is evidence of our cross-Atlantic chums in most bars. But if you like your salsa in much bigger portions, here are few South American bars in London that are worth checking out.

Barrio - Bars

Barrio is cool South American cocktail bar with outposts across London. A very warm and colourful feel to the decor sets the scene and creates an exotic environment with South American beers, rum and tequila cocktails that make for a memorable Mexican boozy brunch experience.

The Spirited

Located in High Holborn, The Spirited is a cool basement bar that specialises in cocktails and Latin American tapas. The intimate space features comfy sofas and rustic wooden walls, decorated with hanging tapestries and foliage.

Their signature cocktail selection is inspired by the Amazonian rainforest, while the food menu combines flavours from the 12 sovereign nations of South America. Think sea bass ceviche, smoky mushroom skewers and a weekly seasonal empanada.

Lima Cantina - El Bar

Colourful, social, and full of life, Lima Cantina captures everything that makes South American dining so irresistible. Tucked away in Covent Garden, this restaurant and bar is all about sharing plates, strong cocktails, and good vibes.

Their Pollo a la Brasa is legendary, the Pisco Sours are dangerously drinkable, and the atmosphere feels straight out of the Peruvian capital - easy-going, buzzy, and full of warmth.

Fogo de Chão Bishopsgate - Original from Brazil

For an authentic taste of Southern Brazilian heritage, Fogo de Chão Bishopsgate delivers an unparalleled South American dining experience to the capital. Rooted in culinary traditions founded in 1979, this striking restaurant champions the true art of churrasco cooking, pairing continuous, tableside rodízio service of premium meats with warm, traditional Brazilian hospitality.

The regional journey continues on the ground floor at Bar Fogo, a moody, luxurious destination showcasing a heavily curated list of exceptional South American wines and expertly shaken cachaça cocktails.

LIMA Shoreditch At Sun Street Hotel

LIMA is a gorgeous Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant in the heart of Shoreditch, right on Sun Street, that draws on the original Michelin-recommended location in Fitzrovia. Expect a space bathed in sunlight from the huge skylight, as well as a pretty ceiling installation.

Across the menus of innovative Nikkei cuisine, you'll find the likes of mixed ceviche (sea bass, gambas, octopus, sweet potato) in tiger's milk, bluefin tuna tartare with shiso leaf tempura, and wagyu beef saltado. Not in the area? Check out their Fitzrovia site instead.

Dom Carnivoro

The menu serves up prime cuts only, from picanha to feijoada, along with fresh salads and seasonal sides. Over on the wine list, there's Brazilian and European bottles to perfectly complement your plate.
