Arlo's

Description

With the former director of the L'Atelier des Chef cooking school, Tom McNeile, at the helm, Arlo's in Balham is dedicated to serving delicious steaks at affordable prices. Shunning the usual ribeyes and fillets, the team of chefs instead plate up perfectly seasoned bavette and picanha cuts, priced between £12 and £14 and showing diners that succulent slices of beef need not cost an arm and a leg.

The restaurant is based on Ramsden Road and is refreshingly decorated with simple furniture, purposely unfinished walls and quaint light fixtures.

Of course, the food menu is the centre piece here. Alongside the bavette and the picanha cuts, a hearty 1.2 kilogram dry aged bone-in ribeye offers the ideal sharing dish, served with a beef trencher and two flavoursome sauces. To perfectly round things off, the delicious sides help to balance out every dish; expect to find hand-cut skinny chips, chargrilled broccoli warming macaroni cheese and a diverse selection of salads served with your affordable steak at this quaint spot in South London.
