Best Pub 2014/15 - DesignMyNight Awards

Paradise is a dazzling gastropub, bar and live music venue close to Queen’s Park and Kensal Green stations. With great food and drink, a bustling ambience and fun events taking place most days of the week; you could call Paradise a pillar of West London partying. And you’d be absolutely right to do so.

The food is the venue’s pride and joy. The skilled culinary team use ethically sourced, sustainable and most importantly downright delicious produce to create something of a tasting sensation for those in attendance. Seasonal cooking is the name of the day, with fan-favourites like Morecambe Bay Shrimps, Lonk Lamb and Dorset Lobsters featuring on an extensive A La Carte menu. You could always drop in on Sunday, when their sumptuous Roast is served up alongside a Bloody Mary or two.

Paradise’s wine list is carefully curated and it comes alongside a strong choice of cocktails so you’re not short of options. Visit when the sun is down to experience a renowned Paradise party, known for its rousing vibes, eclectic soundtrack and sprightly guests. A true all-rounder, Paradise also has ample room to host private functions of pretty much any persuasion.

Their chef is a firm believer in seasonal cooking, so expect the restaurant to serve treats such as Morecambe Bay shrimps, Lonk Lamb or Dorset lobsters, giving you the perfect excuse to eat at Paradise all year round. Truly disappointing. It is not the first time I have been to Paradise, however following my refusal on Saturday night, I will not be returning. Three friends and I decided on Paradise as it local, not too expensive and typically attracts young professionals. We arrived at the club at 23.30 and went directly to the entrance as we were the only group outside. As we approached the bouncer, he told us to queue before quickly asking if were on a VIP guest list. Having never needed to join any VIP guest list in the past, we saw no need that evening and we replied “no”. The bouncers’ response was “Go away then, you are not coming in.” We questioned his decision and his following response was, “Go find a club in London that will let four lads in without girls.” It is quite shameful that a restaurant, bar/club chooses to employ men who prefer to discriminate and dictate. (We had not caused any disturbance to any of the staff, or guests, nor were we acting aggressive or acting any other offensive manner. This leaves me to question why we should be turned away?) As Paradise is the only premises in the nearby area, we were forced to cut our night short and request another taxi home shortly after arriving. However, while waiting around, a larger group of males arrived. One or two member of the group appeared to be friends with the bouncer and was admitted entrance without being asked if they were on any guest list. One member of the group then came over to me and my friend, stating that he likes to ‘pick and choose’. As mentioned at the beginning of my review, Paradise has been a quite favourable option for a night out, however after this experience I will not be returning. On this occasion, I went with a smaller number of friends than I have been with in the past. I have already made others aware of the experience and would not be recommending this venue to any others in the future. If you are looking to have an enjoyable evening out with a group of friends, this is NOT the place, as you won’t be given the opportunity. Save your time and money – not a place worth considering.

A bit of a way out if you aren't from west London but imo it's worth the journey. Candlelit restaurant was full with families dining out, the bar next door was packed with a fun Saturday night crowd and then upstairs is where the people come to party. If you're after a night of wild abandon head straight here but don't expect much space to throw your shapes; it gets really busy.

We had both amazing food and great service in the stunning restaurant which has been decorated in a beautiful shabby chic style. I especially enjoyed the slow roasted lamb dish which was mouthwateringly good! We went upstairs to the club room after dinner which had a great vibe with Norman Jay DJing. Great Friday night!! :)

Not impressed at all. Trying to be something you're not is not cool. Food was average at best. Staff were rude, better places to spend my money and will not be returning.

This is one of the best places I've been to in London. There is a great choice of food and it's reasonably priced compared to a lot of places that charge much more for less! All of the dishes coming out looked great, the Steak I had was exceptional and my girlfriend loved her Lamb. Great selection of drinks too, will definitely be going back.
