The Running Horse really does take the gold for survival; open since 1738, TRH Mayfair is the oldest functioning pub in Mayfair and a true figurehead for the London pub tradition, albeit after a cheeky face lift. Under the experienced eye of Dom Jacobs, former director of bars at Sketch and head bartender at The Fifth Floor Bar at Harvey Nichols, The Running Horse has rebranded and reopened as the latest Mayfair hotspot.
The Running Horse is all set to serve some of the most innovate cocktails, as well as a fine menu of wines, ales and spirits, and there is no doubt that The Running Horse has become a firm favourite for those seeking a cool yet unpretentious den for after work drinks, lunch on a Sunday afternoon or even a space for private hire.
The first floor Cocktail bar, formerly & fondly known as 'The Whip' has relaunched a fully fledged Restaurant, tucked away the first floor above the main pub, away from the Mayfair and Oxford Street hustle and bustle. Open from Monday - Friday, 12:00-23:00.

Established in 1738, The Running Horse is the oldest public house and kitchen in Mayfair. A collaboration between James Chase of the award-winning Chase distillery and Dominic Jacobs, former bar director at Sketch, the pub has been lovingly restored and reopened its doors in the Autumn of 2013. The Running Horse sources ingredients from some of the UK’s best independent food and drink producers, ensuring a wholly British experience: from field to bottle to table. As we're in such a great & handy location, venue hire is always an option for us - the pub transforming beautifully into a private function room with heaps of standing space alongside cosy candlelit corners.
