Snaps for The Gate, as they're the first Autism friendly restaurant in the UK

The Gate earn their accessible worth, becoming the first restaurant in the UK to be hailed as autism friendly.

With all this gnarly, referendum news doing the rounds, it's right about time that we had a glimmer of hope, even if that comes from another platform entirely. While we're the first to talk new menus, and consistently on the hospitality prowl for new openings and pop-up press releases, let's be honest, it's good to hear something different and something perky at that.

Having recently been to The Gate myself, and not only recognized the exemplary service and selection of plates, The Gate can be commended for their forward thinking awareness when it comes to customers, and autism. The first UK restaurant to be awarded autism friendly courtesy of the National Autistic Society, The Gate not only provide a menu for those with autism, helping them calmly navigate the dishes and ingredients, this level of awareness extends to regular cooking-classes with kids, local partnerships with the likes of Ambitious About Autism and a guide to the restaurant, before even getting there.

In or out, we think this is at least something to cheer about.
