Hidden away in the old cellar of the Prince of Wales pub in Wimbledon is Bertie's Bar, a cosy wine bar known for their regular live music events. The entrance through a small courtyard leads to the renovated cellar with low ceilings, leather sofas and exposed brick walls. This small bar creates the perfect atmosphere for their main event, Hidden Away Music, on Tuesday nights. Bands of all genres perform and it is also an open mic night allowing anyone who turns up to participate. Besides this and live jazz events, the bar hosts the Wimbledon Comedy Club on the first Sunday of every month. The main crowd is usually a bit older, but anyone over 18 is welcome. 

Bertie's is also a great place for a quiet drink on the nights there aren't live events. Serving 2-for-1 cocktails on Mondays and with new drink deals changing regularly, it's the perfect place for after work drinks or grabbing some food with friends. No matter what the night, guests are guaranteed a chilled out atmosphere, friendly staff and always the opportunity to discover some new music. Certainly not what you would expect from the basement of a pub, but this London bar is a welcomed surprise for anyone who visits.
