What we say:
Lovers of Barrio North and Central will be delighted to hear that the Barrio team are heading to Shoreditch and opening Barrio East. Their recipe of Cocktails, Cantina and Club has been delighting the party crowd in Soho and Angel for a few years now and it seems soon we will have a Barrio on all sides of the compass of London!
Barrio East will be bringing the usual heady mix of neighbourhood vibes, latino flavours and spirit and of course those fresh and fierce cocktails behind the bar. Their global drinks policy should continue and Barrio East will cater for the party crowd with DJs spinning music from across the world that always get you up on your feet. Stay posted for more info regarding Barrio East as we get closer to opening time in November 2012.
What they say:
Bringing "a slap of Latin attitude to the East End this November" is Barrio East opening on Shoreditch High Street. Like its counterparts, Barrio East will provide Londoners with a taste of the exotic in their neck of the woods. Vibrant interiors and decor are the hallmark of Barrio bars and this new addition will be no different; inspired by the colourful Latin quarters the world over, the bar will offer delicious street food, inventive cocktails and a late night party atmosphere. The bar will be split into two spaces, Barrio Downtown and Barrio Uptown. The latter will be an elegant speakeasy space with its own marble top bar serving craft cocktails. Barrio Downtown will have a long orange bar splitting the space, expect a customised caravan and trendy House of Hackney wallpaper. Sounds good no?
The cocktails are broken down into three categories New Releases, Remixes and Greatest Hits; with a suggested song to go with each drink, innovative, quirky and fun, very Barrio. The food looks equally delicious and our menu pick is the Chicken Taquitos (£9.50) - crispy rolled tortillas stuffed with chicken, served with a choice of hot guajillo or mild ranchera salsa, guacamole and sour cream. With all this tasty Latin food and drink on offer, you'd be mad not to get down to Barrio East.
