On Sunday May 5th, Proud Camden welcomes the summer season with a waltz and a foxtrot. As documented in Fitzgerald’s classic, ‘The Great Gatsby’, the May Day bash sees a soiree that looks to match the dizzy heights of decadence in the roaring twenties.
Proud’s Bank Holiday Gala brings the bustle of the roaring West-Egg garden parties into its gallery club with an affair that stretches leisurely from the early afternoon to the early morning featuring DJ sets from Hervè – responsible for official remixes for a range of artists including Beyonce, Calvin Harris, Mark Ronson, Steve Aoki, Example, Chemical Brothers, Prodgy, Bloc Party, Usher, Temper Trap and numerous others.
The gallery will be clad with a grand art-deco dressing and a luscious grass flooring upon which guests can enjoy an afternoon luncheon and a game of croquet. Outside, the terrace will host a daytime fete that brings the joyous past times of the early 20th century to an electro-centric public.
Roll on up for the coconut shy and try your hand at a crack shot. Set your sights for glory with the marathon sack race and test your brawn with the bootleg liquor challenge.
Complete with canapés, caviar, exquisite cocktails and a New Orleans marching band serving as the backdrop to the afternoon’s carousing, the West Egg Garden Party will transport guests to an era wrought with casual decadence with a soundtrack from London's purveyors of exotic soundtracks and easy listening treasures courtesy of The Karminsky Experience.
As afternoon drifts in to the evening, guests will see the Horse Hospital morph into a hive of latter evening party antics with a bona fide Bootlegger’s Ball with a DJ set from Yasmin - who first appeared on the scene when she was spotted by none other than Pharrell Williams. That has led to studio sessions with huge artists including Labrinth, Tinie Tempah, Future Cut and Shy FX as well as supporting the likes of Example, Big Boi, Aloe Blacc and Snoop Dogg.
Set to coincide with the launch of our newly refurbished luxury stables, our roaring twenties theme has set the bar for the dizzy heights of revelry we are out to match.
