The Glad Cafe is the welcoming social hub, cafe and music venue of Glasgow's Southside community. The Glad Cafe is also a creative venue providing an intimate and eclectic surrounding for gigs and film screenings. It is renowned for welcoming in a wide range of up-and-coming musicians from genres such as indie, electronic, traditional and world, and also hosts various arts based events including exhibitions and poetry readings. The Glad Cafe is a social enterprise which eventually aims to plough its profits into affordable music lessons for local people, and offers a voluntary program for young people looking for valuable work experience and a place to gather skills and knowledge in the hospitality sector.
