Revolution - Bar Review

Revolution stands up against its fierce clubbing rivals on Broad Street to be the place to go for a fun time party in Birmingham. Whether you're planning a crazy night of partying, popping in for a quick bite to eat, or just after a casual evening of cocktails with friends, this bar offers something for anyone and everyone.

The Venue

Upon entering the bar, I noted the stylish decor, slick leather booths and lengthy bar with a very impressive vodka collection. Then, when the lights got low, the bar transformed into a Mecca of partying with the floor being swept clean of all tables to reveal a dance floor. No it's not the biggest space in town, but with an in-house DJ playing everything from old classics to commercial pop, it's the perfect venue to throw some shapes and have a fun carefree night with friends!

Slick and stylish yet raring for a party, it's not the biggest bar in Broad Street, but it's got all of the fun-filled attitude.

The Drinks

Famous for their cocktails amongst many things, Revolution had something for everyone on their extensive menu. Whether you're a chocolate lover (go for the 'Tennessee Mudshake') or a devoted mojito lover (their 'Apple and Blackberry Mojito' was d-lish), they offer up everything from old favourites to interesting new creations. My personal favourite was the Porn Star Martini - it was deliciously fruity, perfectly balanced, and came served with a cheeky shot of Prosecco. For 2014, they've also mixed up their cocktail menu with some new exciting faces, including the 'Salted Karamel Appletini' and 'Peanut Butter Martini'.

Revolution also offers a student card and a privilege card which give guests exclusive offers throughout the year - perfect for a city which such a huge student population! At only a small cost, these little gems are worth every penny so you can save money on their cocktails and food.

With a classic selection and new menu of chocolate endeavours to pursue, these pocket friendly cocktails are a dime to devour.

The Atmosphere and Clientele

Revolution was a beacon of activity, with its lively party atmosphere and constant buzz of conversation and life. You'll be hard done by to find a Saturday night where there isn't at least one hen party or stag do celebrating in this bar (I counted 3 on my visit), and this only adds to the exciting feel of the place.

The barmen here were professional, experienced cocktail connoisseurs but they didn't take themselves too seriously. They were extremely friendly, chatty and attentive, ensuring we had a fun, memorable night.

I personally can't get enough of Revolution and it's always my go-to place for a fun night. With its fantastically more-ish cocktails, friendly staff, and easygoing atmosphere, you can't go wrong with this fun time bar.
