August Bank Holiday Sunday – London Events, Parties, Bars and Clubs
This August bank holiday in London is always a big weekend on the London clubbing and partying calendar. From Friday August 26th to Monday 29th August London will be buzzing with bank holiday special events from the best DJs at the top London clubs to secret warehouse parties and street parties in Shoreditch.
We have put together our recommended August Bank Holiday Sunday events in London and hope you enjoy them:
1) South West Four Music Festival – Clapham
Sat 27th & Sun 28th August - Clapham Common, Windmill Drive, London SW4 9DE
London day/weekend festival from 12pm
South West Four has now become an established dance festival in London (and one I regularly go to for a day). If you like a reved up crowd, the best dance acts and can stand one full day of non-stop dancing then South West Four won't disappoint! With the main stage hosting some of the biggest DJs and the other tents/arenas hosting equally as banging sounds, there is something for everyone (if you like dance music!). This year's line-up looks like it will be just as impressive with the likes of Pendulum (live), Underworld (live), John Digweed, Laidback Luke, Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Sasha and Simian Mobile Disco as well as many many more.

2) The Frog – August Bank Holiday Party
Friday 26th, Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th August 2011 - 32, The Pavement, Clapham, London, SW4 0JE
The Frog in Clapham will be hosting a bank holiday weekend long party with DJs, live music and good times on offer. Starting on the Friday night, check out some fine solo artists performing covers to kick off the August bank holiday. DJs will playing party sets on the Saturday and Sunday and this is being billed as the unofficial South West Four after party! Recover from the partying with delicious brunch with bloody marys, tasty roasts and the newspapers.
3) Be At One Beach Party
August Bank Holiday weekend – All Be at One venues in London.
Celebrate your August Bank holiday weekend in London with a good old fashioned beach party! Enjoy these top cocktail bars and party over the bank holiday with grass skirts, fancy dress, cheap drinks and competitions to be won! 4) Dishoom Chowpatty Beach Bar
August Bank Holiday Event - Southbank Centre, Belvadere Road, London, SE1 8XX
How does a funky Indian themed beach bar sound for your August Bank Holiday? Based on the Mumbai beach, Chowpatty, this is an Indian cocktail bar and food shack set on the banks of the River Thames that aims to recreate this famous beach. This is a fantastic London pop up bar with spicy cocktails and delicious Indian food awaits!

5) Bookstock, Leonard Street Party – Shoreditch
Sunday 28th August 2011, Leonard Street, Shoreditch EC2A 4RH
Bookstock is brought to you by The Bookclub bar in Shoreditch and the residents of Leonard Street. This is a day dedicated to live music, arts, dancing, food and fancy dress, with a classic London street party for the August Bank holiday. The street is closed and ready for a special bank holiday event so get down to Shoreditch to enjoy this free festival street party.

Leonard Street party hosted a Royal wedding party but now plays host to Bookstock this bank holiday.

6) Eastern electrics – Warehouse party

Eastern Electrics, is a cutting edge electronic music party in a secret warehouse in Southwark. They are putting on a special August Bank Holiday 2011 party with a line-up of top DJs. Mulletover are hosting this event with DJs including Maya Jane Coles, Riva Starr, Robert Dietz, Jesse Rose and Zombie Disco Squad.

7) Plan B – Deadly Rhythm and House Rules
August 27th and 28th 2011, 418, Brixton Road, Brixton, SW9 7AY
A double header this August Bank holiday for Brixton club Plan B. Starting with House Rules on Saturday 27th August, Norman Jay will be making a big appearance, this famous Notting Hill Carnival DJ will not be playing at the carnival this year so this could be your only chance to check out Norman over the bank holiday. Sunday 28th August sees the Deadly Rhythm Carnival Special take over Plan B. David Rodigan, Dillinja and Trojan Sound System bring their dancehalls, beats and heavy baselines!

9) Notting Hill Carnival 2011 – August Bank holiday
Sunday 27th and Monday 28th August 2011, Notting Hill, London

10) Lady Midnight at Peacock Bar - August Bank Holiday Sunday
Sunday 27th August, Clapham, London
If you want some affordable fun south of the river, then head to Peacock bar where they are putting on a Burlesque and Cabaret Show as well as everyone's favoutite 80s music until 2am. Free entry, 2-4-1 cocktails and an outside terrace open all night makes this the fun-time night to go to on Bank Holiday Suday.
